The Magnetic Terrace 2025: On the Other Side of the Eye

This summer, every weekend in July and the first weekend in August, the Magnetic Terrace programme invites us to embark on a sensory journey to the world of dreams and magic, through five films and concerts at sunset, under the open sky. The programme extends once again to Casa San Cristóbal with two screenings of animated films.
This summer the Magnetic Terrace opens a window on the unseen, on what is hidden behind reflections. “On the Other Side of the Eye” immerses us in a world where the boundaries of reality are blurred, where the oneiric and the tangible are transcended, and where images speak louder than words. Through cinema and music, we explore the invisible, the spiritual and the irrational, those crevices of the mind and soul that are often overlooked. A journey to what lies in the shadows, in dreams, in what is unsaid or has yet to be discovered.
The music proposals view sound not only as a form but as living matter and a spiritual vehicle. The artists behind them create through intuition, risk and profound listening, opening up spaces in which music ceases to be a closed system of norms and becomes instead a sensory, emotional and, sometimes, even magical experience. In this case, music is not defined by genres or structures, but by its capacity to invoke and suggest, to resonate beyond the audible. With their minutely-detailed work and dedication, the proposals offer us a glimpse of a fissure through which we can perceive the things that escape our understanding, creating a space in which the magical, invisible and intuitive can become the very essence of the artistic gesture.
The film series takes us on a journey across distorted, strange or mysterious landscapes. What seems real crumbles before our eyes and becomes something else, revealing what is usually hidden, what moves through space and time in a way that we are unable to comprehend but can nevertheless perceive.
“On the Other Side of the Eye” is an invitation to look beyond, to listen more closely, to turn our eyes inwards.
The music programme is curated by Acacia Ojea (Vigo, 1994), artist, programmer and researcher of sound practices. With an academic background in fine arts, classical music and electroacoustics, Acacia is a member of the organisation team of events like Festival Sinsal, Festival Curtocircuito and WOS Festival.
The Magnetic Terrace concerts form part of the TMLAB programme.
TMLAB is a collaborative project of the Creative Europe programme that addresses underrepresentation and access to the music industry with the aim of creating a more inclusive and dynamic music landscape. It seeks to empower new generations of artists and curators by supporting the development of their practice and helping them to gain a foothold on the European music scene.
